Osteo-articular

Our modern diet has profoundly changed with an excess of meat, refined sugar, salt and fizzy drinks... all acidifiers. These acids attack the various tissues and, in order to neutralise them, the body monopolises the alkali minerals, mainly calcium and magnesium, the major constituents of bone.

Bone problems, sensitive joints… such disorders may be linked with excess acid in the tissues. Stiffness, reduced mobility… these may also appear with age and excess weight, signifying degraded cartilage due to lack of synthesis (or intake) of its fundamental constituents, especially glucosamine, chondroitin and silicon.

To help maintain osteo-articular comfort, add to your menu minerals and vitamins which play a role in the formation of collagen to ensure proper cartilage function (Mn, vit. C) and bone function (Ca, Mg, vit. D) or which promote an acid-alkali equilibrium (Zn, Mg, Ca, K). When your joints are playing up, eliminate acid and sooth them with frequently multi-purpose plants: harpagophytum, blackcurrant, nettle, lavandin...
